Mbabane: Eswatini’s COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved steadily to 82 percent as of Monday as the total number of recoveries now stands at 4 029.
The daily reports by the Ministry of Health on COVID-19 indicated that the country has not recorded any COVID-19 related death for the past five (6) consecutive days. The last time the country recorded any fatality was on September 1 and there were three (3) deaths recorded on that day. The total number of deaths stands at 94.
On another note, the number of active cases has also been declining as they are now standing at 730 while the total number of confirmed cases stands at 4 884. Manzini remains the worse hit region with 2 228 cases which translates to 45 percent. The second region to have recorded more cases is Hhohho with 1 891 cases which translates to 39 percent. Shiselweni region has recorded 409 cases which translates to 8 percent and the least affected region be Lubombo with 356 cases.
According to Global Data, globally the pandemic has infected 27,522,762 people as of Tuesday afternoon, with 19,615,125 recoveries and have claimed 897,568.
