Mbabane: The Kingdom of Eswatini has recorded the first health worker, who died of COVID-19.
After saving lives in the country for many years Doctor Wasswa has answered the Lord’s call.
Dr Wasswa originally from Uganda, has touched so many lives in Eswatini, the news of his demise sent social media abuzz and people started sending condolences. He has been in Eswatini for over 30 years as a medical doctor, he died still practicing his trade.
Sometimes it’s true, they say physicians can not heal themselves, and in many medical journals experts have highlighted that doctors can be even sicker than their patients.
The sad news of his death were confirmed by a press statement from the clinic group where was working and was admitted before he died.
In a short statement the Clinic Group Said “it is with extreme sadness that we announce that Dr. Wasswa has passed away in our ICU today. He was part and parcel of our family and his departure is painful, we will miss him dearly. May his soul rest in peace.” Reads the statement.
The Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosie giving a COVID-19 update also confirmed the death of a first medical practitioner, who has worked in the country for many years and has dedicated his whole life serving as a doctor. Nkosie described him as a passionate, hardworking doctor who has worked in the country diligently as a medical practitioner.
