Mbabane: Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi has announced that on Tuesday 28 patients were cleared of COVID-19 and were discharged.

Nkosi said the total of recoveries now stands at 408 while the total number of cases stands at 812 as 17 new cases were also confirmed on Tuesday. The death toll still stands at 11.

The Minister revealed that the 17 new cases came out of the 382 results received by the ministry of health and the number of active cases now stands at 382.

Nkosi revealed that Manzini still stands with the highest number of cases as a total of 442 cases were recorded from the region. 204 cases are from Hhohho region, 87 from Lubombo region and 79 from Shiselweni region.

Nkosi encouraged people with pre-existing illnesses to do regular check ups at least once a year as most of the recently reported deaths had complications with their pre-existing diseases hence succumbed to COVID-19.

The Minister urged the public to continue observing the precautionary measures given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization, this includes regular washing of hands with running water and soap, practicing social distancing and wearing masks whenever one is going out.
