Mbabane: The death toll in Eswatini has increased to seven (7) as the 7th death confirmed on Tuesday along with 31 New cases and 28 recoveries.
This was announced by the Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi when giving updates on COVID-19 response in Eswatini. Nkosi revealed that the deceased was a 73 year old male from the Hhohho Region. He died on Sunday June 21 while in isolation and before release of results. His condition worsened by the conditions of a pre-existing illness.
Nkosi went on to announce that out of 335 results, 31 came out positive which brings the total number of cases to 674. A total of 28 recoveries have been discharged bringing up the total number of recoveries to 319 and that can be translated the total number of active cases in Eswatini now stands at 317.
Nkosi revealed that out of the four regions of the country, Manzini has continued to have the highest number of cases as the total now stands at 379 followed by Hhohho region with 155, Lubombo has recorded 71 cases and last but not least Shiselweni has recorded 69 infections in total.
Nkosi thanked all frontline workers who have continued to work diligently in the fight against COVID-19. This include all health workers, security officers and many more.
