Mbabane: The total number of confirmed cases in Eswatini now stands at 635 as a total of eight (8) new cases confirmed on Sunday.
Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi announced that the ministry of health received 142 results of which 134 came out negative and 8 tested positive. Nkosi said the number of recoveries stands at 285.
The new cases comprises of five(5) males and three(3) females and this indicates that more men have contracted the virus than women as the total of men who have been infected by COVID-19 stands at 325 and women stands at 310.
Manzini continued to be the most infected region as 5 of the new cases are from Manzini, two (2) from Shiselweni Region and one (1) from Hhohho region. Manzini has recorded 361 cases in total.
Nkosi urged the public to continue adhering to all health precautions given by the Ministry of health and World Health Organization(WHO). This includes regular washing of hands with running water and soap, observing social distancing, wearing of masks whenever one is going to a public place.
Nkosi urged those who are being treated from home and those waiting for results to continue adhering to self isolation as to prevent spread of the coronavirus.
