Eswatini records 14 new cases, 1 new recovery

Seven (7) more discharged from the hospital, total recoveries stands at 119

Mbabane: The total number of cases in Eswatini has increased to 486 as 14 new cases confirmed on Saturday.

In a Ministerial statement, Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi announced that the ministry received 150 results of which 136 came out negative and 14 positive.

Nkosi said nine (9) of the new cases are from Manzini Region, 2 from Hhohho region, two (2) from Shiselweni Region and one (1) from Lubombo region. The total number of cases recorded in the Manzini region are totaling up to 291 which can be translated as over 60 % of the overall total cases in Eswatini.

On another note the Minister announced one (1) new recovery bringing the total number of recoveries to 247 which indicates to be 50.8 % of the total number of cases.

According to the Minister’s statement 104 patients are admitted at the hospital while 118 are receiving their treatment under home care which Nkosi said it is monitored by health workers on daily bases.

Nkosi urged the public to continue observing all safety advices given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization which includes regular washing of hands with running water and soap. Wearing of mask is mandatory though people with respiratory illnesses are advised to seek medical advice and remove their masks whenever they need more air. Nkosi advised parents that children below the the age 2 should not be wearing masks as they can suffocate.
