Mbabane: Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi has announced 17 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases to 322.
The Minister revealed that the ministry received 180 results of which 163 tested negative and 17 tested positive. This brings the total number active cases to 95 as total recoveries stands at 224.
The new cases comprises of nine (9) females and eight (8) males, 9 of them are from the Manzini region, one(1) from the Shiselweni region, 5 from Hhohho region and two from Lubombo region.
This date results indicate that over the total cases, 30 patients are admitted at the hospital while 48 are under home care treatment.
Minister Nkosi said the cumulative graph shows an upward trend due to increasing of new cases. The epidemic curve suggest not to be flattening as yet so the public is further urged to continue adhering to all health measures given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization.
Nkosi further went on to appreciating all frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19 in the country, this include health care workers, armed forces, rapid response teams to name but a few. Nkosi urged all of them to continue with their tremendous job they are doing on the ground.
