Mbabane: Minister of Health Lizzy Nkosi has announced that seven cases have been treated and discharged from the hospital.
The total number of cases now stands at 225 including the 119 recoveries. The number of recoveries indicate that Eswatini stands at 52.9% recovery rate as recommended by the Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini saying it is one of the leading rates in Africa.
Nkosi said there are five (5) new COVID-19 cases. The newly confirmed cases comprises of three (3) males and two (2) females, all from the Manzini region. Today’s results reveal that one of the cases, a male of 42 years presented severe disease while the rest presented mild and moderate symptoms.
Nkosi said it is observed that the number of senior citizens contracting COVID-19 is increasing therefore emphasis is being made on self-isolation of family members when suspecting COVID-19 infection to protect elderly at home.
The public is urged to continue observing all safety advices given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization. This advices including frequent washing of hands with running water and soap, social distancing and wearing masks is also mandatory whenever one goes out to public areas and when having flue.
Nkosi has lauded all health workers for their good work that has seen Eswatini having an enormous increase in the number of recoveries.
