Mbabane: Eswatini has recorded 3 more COVID-19 cases, the number now sits at 119 and Manzini remains the epicenter of the virus with 79 cases.
Today the ministry of health received 116 results, out of which 113 tested negative and four (3) positive.
Case #117 is a 44 year old female from Manzini Region. She is a contact of a positive case and had mild symptoms.
Case #118 is a 56 year old female from Manzini Region, he is contact of a positive case and had mild symptoms.
Case #119 is a 28 years old male from Lubombo region, is a contact of a positive case and presented mild symptoms.
Manzini has recorded 79 cases, followed by Hhohho with 24 Lubombo 14 and Shiselweni stands at 2.
Nkosi explained that the cumulative incidence line graph shows that Eswatini’s Curve still has an upward trend, the goal is flattening this curve by practicing the public health measures already given to the public.
Nkosi emphasized that the definition of a suspect case has changed due to the fact that Eswatini has an established local transmission. Therefore, all flue-like illnesses must be considered suspect case of Coronavirus infection, hence the public is encouraged to seek health care as soon as they can.
The Ministry of health assures the nation that the ministry is committed to effect all necessary changes in the intervention thus reshaping the country’s response to the pandemic.
Nkosi has applauded the frontline health workers for their dedication and commitment in the fight against COVID-19 and their work is noticed by EmaSwati.
The public is urged to continue observing all health regulations given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization. Social distancing is one important precautionary measure that is essential to follow as the virus has proven to spread in densely populated areas.
