Mbabane : Eswatini Sugar Association has made a donated of E500,000.00 to 6 organization namely Cheshire Homes Eswatini, Eswatini School Sports Association (ESSA), Rotary Club of Mbabane (Dental Outreach), Diabetes Eswatini, Eswatini Youth Biodiversity Network (EYBN) and lastly Royal Science & Technology Park (RSTP).
These organizations that received the donations are noted to have been aligned with the ESA’s CSI interests in the areas of healthcare, education, sports and environment. ‘’ The Eswatini Sugar Association (ESA), and the sugar industry, concerns itself with the development and nurturing of communities within and beyond the sugar belt, by sowing back, as part of its corporate citizenry.’’ said the ESA CEO, Banele Nyamane while making his remarks in the handover of these donations. Cheshire Home of Eswatini received a donation of E150,000.00 which will go towards the ongoing rehabilitation of the Matsapha-based home which provides care for people living with disabilities. The Eswatini School Sports Association (ESSA) received a donation of E50,000.00 which is aimed at ESSA National School Sports
Competition.E50,000.00 was donated to the Rotary Club of Mbabane (Dental Outreach) which holds a dental-cum-health to enable children to have access to dental and health care. Diabetes Eswatini received a donation of E200,000.00 going towards a Diabetes and Hypertension Community outreach programme. Eswatini Youth Biodiversity Network (EYBN) received a sum of E30,000.00 which is aimed at forming the formation and sustainability of In-school eco-clubs, an initiative for young people. Lastly, the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) was handed a donation of E20,000.00 towards upcoming Science Expo.
According to ESA CEO, it is through such collaborations that makes meaningful contributions. ‘’ As an entity, having made donations to these various interventions, we also have a keen interest in the impact these funds will contribute to,’’ said Nyamane concluding his remarks.
