Mbabane: MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Wandile Mtshali has assured MTN customers that data price review is an ongoing process. Once all processes have been exhausted, feedback will be provided accordingly.
This was during his ‘Bright Chat’ on Facebook – a monthly engagement session where customers are updated on current developments at MTN. The theme for the second instalment of “CEO’s Bright Chat” was “MTN Digital Apps and their relevance in the new normal.”
One of the key issues raised by customers during the session was data pricing. Mtshali assured customers that MTN embraces customer feedback.
“We will continue to review our data pricing so that it meets the pocket of the customer,” he said. The CEO said MTN’s focus has been delivering an exceptional customer experience from a network point of view.
“That is why we continue to invest in the network yearly. Now that we have a resilient network, the next step is to look into our pricing, products and services,” he said. In the previous ‘Bright Chat’ session, the CEO mentioned that in the past three years, MTN invested around E1 billion to improve network coverage and quality.
He said these investments were made to enable the company to manage the increasing demand for digital services and financial inclusion services delivered through MTN Mobile Money.
MTN Senior Manager Consumer Meshack Maseko, who hosted the second instalment of the Bright Chat encouraged the company’s customers to explore MTN’s big data bundles store on *686# and *411# for youthful customers to have access to very affordable combos and choose offers that best suit their needs.
The CEO said digital transformation had been the company’s strategic focus way before the outbreak of the coronavirus and will remain the company’s strategic focus even beyond COVID-19. MTN is cognizant of the fact that, more interactions with customers increasingly occur digitally rather than in person in the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
In line with her digital transformation drive for 2020, Mtshali said they have launched Ayoba-an instant messaging app that enables customers to chat for free. MTN is offering free chats of up to 1GB per month for all users.
He said the company has also launched MusicTime! Which is a fantastic music streaming app that allows users to choose from millions of local and international music using minutes as a replacement for data. MTN offers the first 60 minutes for free to get people started on MusicTime!
Mtshali said the company has also introduced MyMTN App to enable customers to manage their life easy, without having to leave their homes.
Recently, MTN launched Y’ello Hub, an on online portal, where local content producers can upload their content and claim royalties.
