Mbabane -The Hon. Minister HRH Prince Lonkhokhela has today met with the Minerals and Mines Management Board (MMB) to discuss collaborative efforts in line with His Majesty the King’s vision: Leveraging the mining sector as a key enabler to boost the country’s economy and create numerous job opportunities.
The Hon. Minister has emphasized to the MMB that Cabinet has a strong view of using the mining sector as a catalyst for boosting our country’s economy and creating numerous job opportunities as also alluded by Emaswati during the recent Sibaya.
The Chairman of the MMB HRH Prince Guduza has pledged full support to the Minister’s office and Cabinet in order to realise the objectives mentioned by the Minister.
The MMB has been in office since March 2021. It is established in terms of the Constitution. The MMB consists of the Commissioner of Mines, mine engineer, economist, legal practitioner and three other persons all of whom, including Chairperson, are appointed by the Ingwenyama on the advice of the Minister responsible for minerals and mines.
The MMB is composed of the following Members;
