Manzini – The AFR100 Multi-Stakeholder Forum took place in Eswatini on Tuesday, 4 February 2026, gathering key actors involved in ecosystem restoration, climate action and sustainable development.

Representing the chief executive officer of the Eswatini National Trust Commission, the Director of Parks welcomed senior government officials, development partners, private sector leaders, academics, media representatives, community members, civil society organisations and NGOs. The Director noted the importance of collective action in restoring the country’s landscapes.

As the executing agency of the Mbuluzi Ecosystems Restoration Project, the ENTC views the Forum as a major step in translating national restoration commitments into coordinated on-the-ground action. The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility and receives technical support from the United Nations Environment Programme.

The Forum set out key goals including planting millions of trees to increase forest cover and capture carbon, boosting food security through climate-smart agroforestry, protecting critical water sources and restoring degraded lands, and creating inclusive green jobs with a focus on women and youth.
