MBABANE – Former Mbabane Highlanders captain Thando Langa has strongly denied claims of indiscipline, saying the allegations linked to his exit from the club are false and damaging to his reputation.

Langa released a statement today, Thursday 28 August 2025, where he addressed his departure, defended his professionalism, and expressed gratitude to the Highlanders family. He said reports suggesting that he rejected a salary offer of E11,500 were untrue and unfair to his family.

“It is imperative for me to reject and refute accusations that I had discipline issues while in camp. I am proud of how I conducted myself and I know such claims can create a false image of me to potential employers,” said Langa.

The defender, who joined Highlanders under Chief Ally Kgomongwe, recalled his first match for the club against Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Gaborone, Botswana, where he was shifted to central defence, a role that later earned him national team call-ups.

He also extended his appreciation to supporters, staff and teammates, describing his years at Highlanders as a “love story” despite the challenges faced.
