Mbabane:The Government of Eswatini has refuted reports on King’s health condition. The reports were that the King is in critical condition, bedridden at Manzana Hospital. The government has issued a statement that dismisses these reports.
This follows a story published by an online publication that reported on the King’s health being at critical state affected by COVID-19 pandemic following His Majesty’s recent contact with Taiwanese who came to present helicopters to the King.
According to the online publication some of the Taiwanese nationals were in quarantine in their motherland being monitored for the coronavirus. The publication further reported that the number of cases being reported by the Ministry of Health were not accurate and the government is hiding information for the public.
On the media release the government claims that this are pure fake social media reports that are perpetuated by elements intent on sowing confusion and panic and are not acceptable. The government wishes to warn the perpetuators of such misinformation that they are in breach of the COVID-19 regulations and risk prosecution. Nevertheless the public is advised to not to consume any information that does not come from authentic government communication channels
