Pretoria: Meet the woman who could become the next Mamelodi Sundowns president should Patrice Motsepe win his bid to be the next leader of CAF.
Motsepe has emerged as a favourite to take over as CAF president when the confederation goes to the polls in March next year in Morocco.
Should the South African mining magnate secure the top seat, he will be obliged to relinquish his position as president of Sundowns, where he has won numerous titles including the CAF Champions League.
It has been has since gathered that Dr Rejoice Simelane could become the next president at Chloorkop if Motsepe manages to secure the position of CAF president.
Simelane is currently listed as one of the directors at Sundowns and was recently re-elected to the PSL Executive Committee.
The former lecturer at the University of Swaziland is also serving in a number of positions in the business sector including Ubuntu-Batho and African Rainbow Minerals Limited, where she serves as chief executive officer and independent non-executive director respectively.
Simelane is also non-executive director at Sanlam Life Insurance Limited.
Meanwhile, Sundowns are still yet to fill the position of general manager after the club parted ways with Kenneth Makhanya a few months ago. Makhanya has since returned to his home country Eswatini.
