MBABANE – Eswatini’s DJ scene is set to take centre stage alongside South African Metro FM star Lulo Cafe at Thembinkosi Mthethwa’s Annual All Black Party on October 9, with Young Zesh, Sibu Manzini and several of the country’s popular selectors joining the line-up.
The highly anticipated celebration will take place at 23:28 Lounge in Mbabane, bringing together local and regional talent for a night dedicated to house music, entertainment and fashion.
Leading the local contingent are DJ Cup, MBO, Young Zesh, Grixxly, Sibu Manzini, Tibza, MixMash, Bisto and DJ Ricko, who will share the stage with Lulo Cafe.
The expanded line-up gives local DJs a prominent platform alongside one of South Africa’s recognised deep-house names, adding another dimension to an event that has grown into one of 23:28 Lounge’s signature celebrations.
Lulo Cafe, born Sikhululo Maliwa, is a South African deep-house DJ, music producer and media personality known for his soulful and Afro-house sound. He is also a familiar voice on Metro FM, where he hosts Supreme Lounge every Sunday from 6pm.
For local music lovers, however, the presence of Eswatini’s own DJs is expected to be a major attraction.
Veteran DJ Cup, whose real name is Zama Welcome Maseko, will headline the local contingent alongside established selectors Sibu Manzini and Tibza. Rising and popular names including Young Zesh, Grixxly, MixMash, Bisto, DJ Ricko and MBO will further strengthen the line-up.
The Annual All Black Party celebrates Mthethwa, the lead actor of the Eswatini television drama Ekhaya and owner and CEO of 23:28 Lounge.
Although his birthday falls on September 23, the celebration is held annually shortly afterwards and has developed into a major gathering for music lovers, celebrities and nightlife enthusiasts.
The event’s all-black dress code has also become part of its identity, with guests expected to arrive dressed entirely in black.
LOCAL SOUND MEETS REGIONAL HOUSE
This year’s edition promises a blend of local and regional sounds, with organisers lining up DJs for an evening expected to move between deep house, Afro-house and popular party anthems.
Doors open at 6pm, while entry is E100 after 8pm. Guests seeking a more exclusive experience can reserve tables by calling 7927 0015.
The event has grown beyond a birthday celebration into a platform that brings together entertainment, fashion and nightlife while providing local artists and DJs with opportunities to share stages with regional acts.
Mthethwa has also continued to combine his acting career with entrepreneurship and entertainment promotion. Through 23:28 Lounge and NewLife Entertainment, he has hosted a number of events featuring local and regional talent.
The black dress code, music line-up and 23:28 Lounge setting are expected to set the tone for another major edition of the Annual All Black Party.
