Mbabane: South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Maritzburg United have revived their interest in Mbabane Swallows midfielder Richard McCreesh according to that country’s leading soccer newspaper Laduma.
In a brief story carried in the latest Soccer Laduma issue, it is believed McCreesh has emerged as a potential signing for the Team of Choice. Maritzburg coach Eric Tinkler is in the market bolstering his squad after an impressive Absa Premiership campaign and have already signed Gabonese midfielder Nathanael Mbourou.
The 23-year old has been described as a neat and compact central midfielder who shows great energy in the middle of the park, providing the link between defence and attack.
It is not the first time Maritzburg are linked with McCreesh, commonly called ‘Griezman’ by his peers as the it is two years now since the first desire was registered.
Sihlangu and Manzini Wanderers legend Jerry ‘Mbazo’ Gamedze recently said, “My good favourite player is the one who respects the game and no one comes to mind but I love watching that boy from Swallows, McCreesh and the reason is the way he makes football simple with his trickery”.
‘Mbazo’ was speaking in a recent interview with Independent News Sports Desk. It is believed, Tinkler has always kept taps on the 24-year old McCreesh since impressing for Swallows in the Total CAF Champions League.
