MBABANE — Mbabane Spar Supermarket has officially unveiled its revamped store layout and upgraded facilities, marking a new chapter for the city-centre supermarket.

The launch took place today, led by Store Manager Bheki Nxumalo, who highlighted the improvements designed to enhance customer experience. Although it is still Thursday, Black Friday specials are already active and shoppers have been flocking in and out, taking advantage of the low prices.

The butchery has a make-over.

Nxumalo explained that the revamp comes as part of the store’s commitment to maintaining high standards, especially given its location in Mbabane’s bustling city centre.

“We are trying to improve the standards and make sure customers have a pleasant shopping experience,” he said.

The new upgrades include several freshly introduced sections that aim to broaden the store’s offerings. Among the highlights is a biltong spice section, a sushi station, and an entirely new Indian cuisine corner  additions that were not available before.

“Imagine that Spar now has a sushi section!” Nxumalo said enthusiastically.

The store has also restructured its fresh produce and meat sections. The chicken department now features a dedicated chicken corner with various pieces and portions available at affordable prices. In the butcher area, customers can now have their meat chopped and weighed on the spot, a service that previously did not exist.

Another standout upgrade is the wood-fired pizza section, which customers have already begun to appreciate. The supermarket installed a firewood oven, offering a more authentic pizza experience that has quickly gained popularity.

The food stall also got a new look.

Additionally, the appliances section has been modernised and redesigned into what Nxumalo describes as a “nice, upgraded corner,” giving shoppers a more organised and visually appealing shopping space.

With Black Friday deals already running, the store manager confirmed that prices have been reduced significantly across various departments.

“Our promotions are going down to the lowest levels,” Nxumalo said, adding that the team is optimistic about improved customer flow as shoppers respond to the new store features.

As the festive season approaches, Mbabane Spar Supermarket hopes the renovations and special offers will attract even more customers seeking convenience, variety, and great value.
