Mbabane – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade hosted a two-day workshop on the Integrated Planning and Reporting Toolkit (IPRT) this week, led by Deputy Director of the International Trade Department, Muntu Almedia. The session brought together national stakeholders to align Eswatini’s National Development Plan (2023–2028) with the Awaza Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries (2024–2034).
Through partnerships with UNDP and UNECA, Eswatini has positioned itself among African nations using digital planning tools to link national strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
The Awaza Programme prioritises structural transformation, trade and regional integration, transit and connectivity, climate resilience, and means of implementation, all areas where Eswatini seeks to strengthen progress.
Participants at the workshop engaged in hands-on exercises to map national targets, refine indicators, and improve monitoring and reporting systems to support evidence-based decision-making and accountability.
