Washington, D.C – Eswatini’s Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg, together with PS Vusie Dlamini and Armstrong Dlamini, Director of the Department Management Unit, met with representatives of the Saudi Fund during the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings. The discussions focused on potential funding for the Mkhondvo and Ngwavuma water projects.
The proposed projects aim to expand access to clean water, boost agricultural productivity, and create jobs, supporting livelihoods and long-term economic growth in Eswatini.

Meanwhile, Minister Rijkenberg, who chairs the African Union’s STC on Finance, represented the AU at the G20 Finance Ministers meeting hosted by South Africa. The meeting concentrated on Africa’s development priorities and explored reforms to make the global financial system more responsive to the needs of developing countries. The AU participated actively to ensure Africa’s voice influenced the discussions on reshaping global finance.
