Mbabane – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) yesterday joined the Government of Eswatini and the Eswatini National Association of People with Visual Impairments in marking International White Cane Day.
The event, observed annually on October 15, raises awareness about the rights and mobility of persons with visual impairments while promoting an inclusive society.
This year’s theme, “Clear the Way: Promoting an Inclusive Environment for Persons with Visual Impairment in Eswatini,” focused on improving access, dignity, and participation for visually impaired persons in education, mobility, and the economy.
Since 2015, the ERS has invested more than E1.25 million through its Corporate Social Investment programmes to support education initiatives for persons with disabilities. The agency said the observance aligns with its commitment to inclusion and creating opportunities for all citizens.
