Mbabane — The Eswatini Institute of Accountants (ESIA) joined government officials and regional accounting bodies for a three-day Change Management Workshop on the adoption of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) at Esibayeni Lodge.
The workshop, themed “Charting a New Course Through IPSAS Adoption,” opened with remarks from the Acting Minister of Finance, Apollo Maphalala. Participants explored how IPSAS can improve financial reporting, promote transparency, and strengthen governance in the management of national resources.
ESIA is working with the Office of the Accountant General and professional accounting organizations from Tanzania and Zambia to develop local capacity for IPSAS implementation. Efforts include training, examination, and certification for accountants to ensure the country’s public finance management aligns with international standards.
