MBABANE — The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has distanced itself from a fraudulent online link that falsely promises a cash transfer of E3,500 to all emaSwati households under the so-called “Poverty Reduction Cash Grant.”
The misleading link, which has been circulating on social media, instructs users to first confirm whether they are Liswati before becoming eligible for the supposed grant. The DPM’s Office stated that this is not an official government programme and that no such initiative has been launched.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Jane Mkhonta-Simelane said her office, which is mandated to administer social grants including those for the elderly and persons with disabilities, has not introduced any cash transfer of this nature.
She warned members of the public to avoid clicking on the link or submitting personal information, as it could be used for malicious purposes such as fraud or identity theft.
The Office further encouraged emaSwati to verify all information related to social assistance through official government communication channels.
