EZULWINI – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) yesterday held a stakeholder meeting to discuss the new Alcohol and Tobacco Levy, which will come into effect on 1 September 2025.

The engagement focused on explaining key provisions of the Alcohol and Tobacco Levy (Amendment) Act of 2025. Stakeholders were briefed on significant changes, including increases in levy rates on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

ERS officials also provided clarity on the definition of products affected by the new law and outlined updated classifications for tobacco items. Importers and clearing agents were among those in attendance, as the amendments are expected to directly impact their operations.
