Mbabane – Isuzu has revived the D Max X Rider Black Edition, unveiling the model at the Kyalami Festival of Motoring on Thursday following a teaser earlier in the week.
Last seen six years ago on the previous generation, the Black Edition returns as an ultra limited release of 150 units, now offering four wheel drive for the first time.
The bakkie features gloss black 18 inch alloy wheels fitted with General Grabber AT3 tyres, a black sports bar and side steps, black mirror caps and a Gunmetal Metallic grille. White decals along the doors and a numbered plaque on the front wing set it apart, while Onyx Black remains the sole colour option.
Other details include red Isuzu lettering on the grille, black door handles and tailgate handle, red X badges, roof rails, LED lights, a soft tonneau cover and black Isuzu badging at the rear.

Inside, the cabin carries over the X Rider design, with black leather seats stitched in red, X logos, a black roofliner, piano black inserts and red accents on the dashboard, steering wheel, gear lever and doors.
Standard equipment includes a seven inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual zone climate control, reverse camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control, seven airbags, stability control and trailer sway assist. A tow bar and rear diff lock are also fitted.
Power comes from the 1.9 litre turbodiesel engine producing 110 kW and 350 Nm, paired with either a six speed manual or six speed automatic gearbox. The automatic is also available on the new four wheel drive version.
Prices start at E664 100 for the manual, E685 600 for the automatic, and E770 400 for the four wheel drive automatic. All models come with a five year or 120 000 km warranty and a five year or 90 000 km service plan.
