MTHATHA – South African Police in Mthatha are asking residents with missing relatives to come forward and help identify unknown bodies kept in government mortuaries.
The bodies were discovered in various parts of the OR Tambo District, including Mthatha, Mqanduli, Ngqeleni, Libode, Bhityi, and Kwaaiman. Some of the remains have been in the mortuaries for more than two years.
Police are urging family members to contact Mthatha Central Detectives at the Old Savoy building. Those with information can reach out to:

Authorities say community cooperation is crucial to ensure that the bodies are identified and returned to their families.
