ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR – SADC leaders extended condolences to His Majesty King Mswati III and the people of Eswatini over the passing of former Prime Minister Prince Mabandla.
At the 45th Ordinary SADC Summit yesterday, leaders and SADC Executive Secretary Elias Magosi paid tribute to Prince Mabandla for his role in advancing the regional bloc’s objectives during his tenure. The remarks recognized his contributions to promoting cooperation and regional development.
Other leaders mourned on the same day included Dr. Hage Geingob, former President of Namibia who passed away in February 2025. Namibia’s President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said their legacies should guide SADC towards peace, progress, and unity.
Magosi also remembered Antonette Manana, a liSwati staff member at the SADC Secretariat, noting her dedication to regional service.
