Mbabane – Dr. Nozizwe Pearl Mulela-Zulu, Managing Director of Eswatini Development and Savings Bank, will be part of the Stellenbosch Business School Alumni Thought Leadership Panel later this month in Mbabane. The discussion, titled African Frontiers in the era of “Trump-onomics”, will examine Africa’s role in a rapidly changing global economy.
The event, set for 25 and 26 August at Hilton Garden Inn, will bring together alumni, industry leaders, and experts to exchange ideas and explore strategies for shaping Africa’s future. Mulela-Zulu described the session as an opportunity to challenge perspectives and foster dialogue among business and policy leaders.
Nozizwe is the first woman to lead Eswatini Bank since its establishment in 1965, making her a trailblazer in the country’s corporate sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law from the National University of Lesotho, a Bachelor of Laws from Rhodes University, and both a Master of Laws and an MBA from Stellenbosch University.
Her career began as a Candidate Attorney at Robinson Bertram Attorneys, later serving as a practicing attorney and part-time law lecturer at the University of Eswatini. She transitioned into banking as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor at Standard Bank Eswatini before joining Eswatini Bank in 2012 as Executive Manager for Corporate Business. She later moved to First National Bank Eswatini as Executive Head of Commercial Banking before her appointment as Managing Director of Eswatini Bank.
Mulela-Zulu has received multiple accolades, including Business Woman of the Year 2015 under the corporate category. She has also served on boards such as the Eswatini Television Authority, the Road Transportation Appeals Board, and Junior Achievement Eswatini. Outside work, she enjoys long-distance running and reading self-development books.
