Mbabane – The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed emaSwati that Monday, 22 July 2025, will be a normal working day across the country.
This follows public confusion over whether the date would be a holiday after His Majesty King Mswati III announced the addition of a public holiday earlier this year.
The ministry clarified the matter through a press statement issued on Sunday, explaining that the new holiday, linked to the Buganu ceremony, was already observed on 10 March 2025.
His Majesty made the announcement on 22 February at Buhleni Royal Residence, with government formally gazetting the Buganu holiday for March.
Home Affairs Ministerial Communications Officer, Mlandvo Dlamini, advised citizens to treat 22 July as a normal workday and proceed with their usual schedules.
