MBABANE – Officers under the Eswatini National Agricultural Union (ESNAU) received training on agripreneurship and business leadership during a three-day workshop held from Tuesday to Thursday last week.
The training, which took place in partnership with Germany’s Andreas Hermes Akademie (AHA), focused on building leadership skills and business knowledge for stakeholder officers tasked with supporting farmers around the country.
Participants were taken through the first two modules of the Agripreneurship Training Programme (APT) Basic Course. The first module focused on leadership development, encouraging personal responsibility and introducing tools such as the Behaviour Clock to improve self-awareness and growth. Officers were also equipped with presentation skills and methods of using feedback effectively.
The second module targeted business strategy, introducing the concept of assessing farm operations from a broader perspective and aligning agricultural production with market demands. Attendees also learnt to use portfolio analysis to assess and improve profitability in farming ventures.
Officers took part in group discussions and practical exercises designed to mirror challenges farmers experience on the ground.
