Luanda – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has landed in Luanda, Angola, where he will represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the Kingdom of Eswatini at the US-Africa Business Summit.
The summit officially opens on Monday and brings together African leaders, senior US officials, and global business figures to explore economic partnerships across infrastructure, energy, agriculture, digital innovation and healthcare.
Dlamini’s arrival comes as regional attention centres on the Lobito Corridor railway — a proposed mineral transport route connecting Angola to Zambia, the DRC and Tanzania — which is expected to feature heavily in this year’s talks.
Held during Angola’s 50th independence celebrations and its chairmanship of the African Union, the gathering includes closed-door meetings, high-level panels and networking sessions.
More than 1,500 delegates are taking part, including Angola’s President João Lourenço, Zambia’s Hakainde Hichilema, the DRC’s Felix Tshisekedi and Namibia’s Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. The US delegation features senior figures from the State Department, trade agencies and private sector.
The prime minister was seen off by members of cabinet at King Mswati III International Airport on Sunday morning.
