LOZITHA PALACE — April 16, 2025 — His Majesty King Mswati III has received letters of credence from the new diplomatic representatives of Saudi Arabia and Canada to the Kingdom of Eswatini, marking a renewed commitment to deepening international cooperation.
At a ceremony held at Lozitha Palace, the King welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador-designate, H.E Faisal bin Falah Al-Harbi, and Canada’s incoming High Commissioner, H.E Sara Nicholls.
The King encouraged both envoys to explore expanded avenues of collaboration between their respective countries and Eswatini, with a focus on areas that could bring mutual benefit.

Ambassador Al-Harbi expressed Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for the growing diplomatic bond with Eswatini, noting increased cooperation across several sectors. He referenced the December visit of Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Pholile Shakantu, to Riyadh, which resulted in the establishment of an embassy and a General Cooperation Agreement covering trade, education, tourism, investment, and cultural exchange.
On behalf of Canada, High Commissioner Nicholls reaffirmed her country’s longstanding friendship with Eswatini, dating back to 1968. She signaled interest in partnerships focused on clean technology, IT, and vocational education. Nicholls praised Eswatini’s National Digitization Strategy, describing it as fertile ground for Canadian expertise in e-government, cybersecurity, and fintech.
