MBABANE – Nokuthula Mkhabela-Matsabela and Nokwanda Nxumalo have been named Woman Farmer of the Year in the Adult and Youth categories, respectively, at the 17th edition of the national competition hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The awards, held under the theme Celebrating Women in Agriculture, spotlighted the contributions of Eswatini’s women farmers to national food security and rural development.
During the prize presentation ceremony, the Minister of Agriculture called on women farmers to adopt integrated farming systems that promote sustainability, reduce risk, and conserve critical resources such as soil and water.
The minister also acknowledged the longstanding role women have played in agriculture, stating that they have remained central to sustaining communities and supporting future generations.
