NGCULWINI – Music lovers are in for a spectacular night as South African Afro-pop sensations Naledi Aphiwe and Mawelele gear up to perform at the highly anticipated Romeo and Juliet show on April 5, 2025, at Ehawini Lifestyle.
Siyanda Shabalala, the marketing manager for Ehawini Lifestyle, confirmed that attendees can expect a thrilling night filled with top-tier performances. The duo, widely recognized for their chart-topping hit Romeo and Juliet, has been making waves since the song’s release, drawing massive attention from fans across the country.
Naledi Aphiwe first gained national recognition at just 18 after a viral video showcased her exceptional vocal talent. Her career skyrocketed when international superstar Chris Brown took notice, leading to a collaboration on Shooter, a track from his 11:11 album. This major break landed her a deal with Virgin Music Group and a nomination for the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards. Despite her rising fame, Naledi successfully balanced her studies and recently completed her matric while continuing to make strides in the music industry.
Mawelele, at 22, has been steadily building his name in the industry, gaining momentum with his debut single All My Life, featuring Kwast. His collaborations with industry heavyweights such as Blaq Diamond, Makhosi, and most recently, Naledi Aphiwe, have cemented his status as a rising star. Their joint track Romeo & Juliet amassed over one million YouTube views within just ten days, solidifying their growing influence in Afro-pop.
The event promises to be one of the biggest shows of the year, according to Shabalala. Alongside the headliners, a strong lineup of local talent, including Young Zesh and DJ Chulomn, will add to the electrifying atmosphere. Gates open at 3 PM, with tickets priced at E100 per entry.
