The Eswatini government has launched a three-day National Communications Forum to shape the future of telecommunications, broadcasting, and postal services. Organized by the Ministry of ICT in collaboration with the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), the event serves as a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss innovation, regulation, and consumer protection in the digital era.
ICT Minister Savannah Maziya, delivering the opening address, called for a unified approach to building a digitally inclusive economy. She stressed the importance of integrating digital advancements into education, healthcare, business, agriculture, transport, and social welfare to drive national progress.
The forum features discussions across three key sectors:
- Telecommunications Day (March 12): Focused on sustainable industry growth, the cost of communication services, and emerging technologies within regulatory frameworks.
- Broadcasting Day (March 13): Addressing digitalization trends and the importance of quality content in sectoral expansion.
- Postal & Courier Day (March 14): Examining the evolving role of postal services and the impact of regulations on the courier industry.
